Where the money comes from, and where it does not. From readers, if they want. Never from a lawyer looking for cases, an institution, a municipality, or anyone who could be reported here. That is the whole point: a directory that charges for a listing stops being useful the day it starts charging.
What it costs
Not much, and it is better said with numbers than with a vague appeal. The denuncia.cr domain costs about $70 a year at NIC.cr — .cr domains are not cheap — and hosting is essentially zero because the site is deliberately static. What actually costs is time: phoning an Área Rectora to confirm a number, reading a new regulation, checking which link broke this month.
Ko-fi is a third-party service: the payment happens there, not here. This site has no payment form, never sees your card, and loads no Ko-fi script — which is why this is a link and not an embedded widget.
Help worth more than money
Genuinely. Right now only one canton out of 84 has its local contacts verified.
- Confirm your canton’s contacts — phone your Área Rectora de Salud and your municipality, ask which address a complaint goes to, and send it to us. Ten minutes of yours serves the whole canton.
- Tell us what went wrong — if you filed using this guide and the institution asked for something this site does not mention, that is the most valuable thing you can send us.
- Print signs and put them up — with the owner’s permission. They are ready to print at /rotulos.
- Fix the English or the Spanish — especially the templates: an official reads them, and a clumsy sentence costs the person filing their credibility.
What your support does not buy
- It changes nothing about your complaint and buys no priority: this site neither files it nor sees it.
